The Clean Up did not disappoint! What a great group of folks from multiple clubs AND folks just coming out cause they heard about it!

Always some good stories coming in the wake!  There was quickcrete, post hole diggers, power tools, and dead power tools! There were some impromtu "stream-side" spawner seminars (awesome, CS!).   ... but most of all a bunch of CR#P was hauled out of the creek.

Here's some pics of the day. (in no particular order) ... Mark Pinto gave me the technique, I shot two unprotected redds THRU my polarized sunglasses (JT got better shots), Gary, Cliff, Bob and others putting up signage at various trailheads, "THE haul"~including tire, lumber etc.

I have to give up fishing 5 after a good talk with friends, got skunked but hauled the freight palete off of the exposed bar at the top of the #5 island. D$MN thing was wet and heavy, I took some advil that night and hit the sack....Good Job All! it was a good day!

The clean-up was good on Saturday.  It was cool to see people that I haven't seen in a while.  I even snuck out on the water later in the day.

I attached a picture of the message from Brian's personal fan club.  I had to censor it slightly, though.  I figure there are too many "little eyes" reading the posts here.

I also posted a picture of a redd.  It is a pretty good example of what to watch out for when fishing the creek.  Please avoid areas that look like the second picture.  Please don't walk through these areas or fish them.

And the fishing--it was pretty slow.  I fished a favorite SAW hole with Emerger and DrBombay.  I had a few hits and landed one rainbow that went about 16".  He took a #24 black Drowned Midge.

Thanks JT, that was just too funny!!!!

As well as pitching in a hand all morning, the other cool thing was that guide Mark Pinto brought some pictures from fishing Putah in the early 90's.  Some of the area's had really changed.  Don't forget to support the ones who support us, he guides the Moke, Stan, Calaveras, Feather, Yuba and Lower Sac among other rivers.

Sadly, had Brian been present, he probably could have scratched that thing off before we even saw it . . . however, he wasn't and he didn't, much to our entertainment!biggrin

Brian will end up getting the hardest laugh out of this.

Gents, I think the only solid conclusion we can make in this situation is that Katie from Bar of America drove down to Putah Creek and decided to give Brian a piece of her mind.

My pleasure James! It's a great pram and handled like a drift boat.

Alastair was right; we should have cracked a bottle of Champagne on the side smile.gif

Great looking pram James; sounds like its on to the mahogany model.

On behalf of the Board of PCT, I want to thank all who participated in the clean up and signage installations. It would be great if you talked to those you see fishing the redds to remind them that those spawners are our future as well as the fishes.

December 10 is a very important day for the Creek-it is the day the new regs are voted in, taking effect in March. You can watch the proceedings on line at the FGC web site. If they are passed, we plan to throw a celebration in January in thanks for the support our membership,  the forum, other conservation groups and local clubs have given us.

Again, thanks to all and have a great Thanksgiving break!

sorry guys i did not make it, i was driving though fresh powder on the 50 and 89 passes on my way to bishop.

wow someone must really hate me. maybe that person should go to an anger management class, i heard flyfishing does really well for that. oh well cant win them all over. i wouldnt say it was a laugh but more of a REALLY??? very shocked, i realize that i was not liked on this website when i first came on, and some may still dislike me, but for someone to actually write it in the open for people to see and read, and now they can read it on this website, really makes me wonder what i am doing wrong, or whom i have pissed off.

I would like to put this out there, if the person that wrote this comment is reading this post and was offended by me at anytime, i am truly sorry for what i did, i do realize that at my earlier yrs of flyfishing i was some what of a hot head and many people did not like me. but for those that know me and have fished with me can all attest that i am a great guy, and love helping new people out, and even those that are not new. if u are that person and would like to discuss this in an adult manor and u are on this website, u are more than welcome to either pm me, or email me when ever u like. again sorry for upsetting u. and hope this work out for u at your anger management class.

WOW??????

oh ya great job guys at the clean up, i really wish i could have been there to help out.

Don't let it get to you Brian, I wouldn't even apologize. I can't imagine anyone respectable writing that out for everyone to read.

happy thanksgiving all,

Vince

Brian,

Don't get sentimental on us now, it'll ruin your image.  We all love you for who you are.  Enjoy the laugh and be yourself.  Besides the multiple personalities, you're fine!biggrin
