Just as I was heading into a good spot, I ran into RG Loft - whom I'd never met. We went up stream and whacked a bunch of fish, but the fish got tired of us catching them so I moved further up stream. RG got to see me fall down smashing my right shin and hip and filling my waders part of the way up while fishing near him and while fishing above him (way up), I tried to cross and found one spot on my crossing foray was about 8 feet deep. I'm only 6 feet tall so you can imagine how much water filled my already wet waders.
Anyway, RG had it going on with his zug bug and it was all good - we got out alive at dark.
dito on all that what a good day my fish are diffidently getting bigger maybe it's the season change plus the lower flows have made a big difference . plus the role cast has helped me land some that I would have never caught without .That said I have to stop horsing them at the end of one of my drifts I hooked what felt like good sized but I got impatient and tryed to bring the fish to me to fast and got broke off
Richard, you're tearing 'em up these days. Great to hear. Did Dean set you up on your new role cast or did you already have that under control? He mentioned that Sarah did really well!
I think that sarah would do well to spend some time working on her casting and the roll cast ya can't do without as for me I have significantly improved my casting i.e roll cast and have now landed several that I would have never even come close to because of the roll cast. several after working a spot and landing several then using the roll cast and land another right away with that cast so It's becoming indispensable as for the class. The rivers my classroom I guess I'm just hard headed The fish just keep getting bigger . I don't want to exaggerate but yesterday I landed this bow on the creek that was probably a good pound or more and this time I didn't loose it when it buried it self on the bottom I just moved to the fish and lowered the tip and then raised the tip and game on for another two minutes in the end I landed it . gota love this sport . that said I only landed three to four that was monday 10-12-09 not bad hu . I don't need no stinking casting class . ha ha ha thanks for asking .talk to ya latter
