Paradise!! Tubed Virginia Lakes and hit the E Walker, Green Creek, Mill Creek. Passed on Heenan based on poor reports and was too lazy to leave fish to find fish on the Carson(s). Landed nice fish everywhere. The Brookies are getting colored up and were ravenous for dries. My buddy can't walk far so we did almost all drive up, but it was a blast. I'm headed back Thurs for 6 more days (hopefully) before the snow starts flying. Weather report is iffy last time I looked. Itchy to hit Kirman, but it won't happen this trip because of my bud's infirmities. noHe's a good cook though.biggrin

I'm not sure which part of the fluoro statement was controversial, the 600 year bit, or the "fish can see it" bit. Either way, I remember reading the same thing from the Cutters on their website a while back, and I mentioned it to a buddy while on the Yuba. He had a great response (I'll paraphrase): sure, the visibility may be the same, but it's a hell of a lot stronger so you can run smaller sizes. Even if you want to run the same size, it means fewer break offs.

Tom Rosenbaurer also has a great response to the Cutter's claim that unweighted nymphs float more realistically. In Prospecting for Trout, he said it's true that unweighted nymphs do look more like nymphs when drifting down a river... if they are not attached to a leader. But the leader with an indicator is going to be jerking that unweighted nymph all around, whereas a weighted nymph would hold its position a little better.

Anyways, food for though. I've been doing too much thinking about fishing, and not enough fishin'
