Putah has many different species of fish other than the beloved rainbow trout.  I'm interested to know how many of you guys are mainly trout anglers, or if you use your fly rod for other species?  I'd prefer trout any day for their beauty and fight, but I've been using my fly rod for every thing else too.

Hi Ty,
On Putah, I only target the Rainbow Trout.  I fish for other species in both fresh and salt elsewhere.

Fresh
Largemouth Bass - California Delta topwater LMB fishing rocks!
Smallmouth Bass
Striped Bass
Bluegill (usually with the niece and nephew)
Steelhead - Who doesn't like chasing steelies?
Other trout species (cutts, brookies, lake, browns - still yet to catch a Putah brown)

Salt
Tarpon - You have to fish for these at least once in your lifetime!
Dorado - mmmm... fresh Mahi Mahi fish tacos!
Pacific Sailfish
Roosterfish - also known as the "Elizabeth Hurley of fish."
Jack Crevalle
Snook
Trevally
Bonefish

I'm only interested in trout for now. And the occasional bluegill at a local pond. Those bluegills can be as finicky as a spring creek trout.
