Truckee Report 8-8

Fished the Truckee today with good luck in the morning. If you are plan to fish the Truckee anytime soon, make sure to bring crayfish patterns. I caught several fish on Crayfish, Pheasant tails and small midges. Fishing was best between 9:00 and 11:00. Once the heat set in during the early afternoon, the bite shutdown.

You got some nice trout there. I second you on the crayfish pattern... I was up there last week and nailed them on the crayfish.

ran into a truckee guide with some clients 2 weeks ago. he said crayfish patterns have been a 6 year top fly. he reccomended dredging the bottom, lots o weight, and liked a big red sj worm trailer. good luck.
