After calling two fly shops, and posting on two bulliten boards, I had no current info on Lake Solano. I called the campground last week and they told me the lake hadn't been planted in over a year. I'd never fished there before even though I onlylive a little more than an hour away. So what's a guy to do? I fished there today from 3 to 8 p.m. I fished mostly within a couple hundred yards of the bridge , upstream and down, with either a sinking line/bugger rig or a two nymph/indicator rig. I had one bite which resulted in a heavy rainbow around 20" Overhead from a mother bank fishing with her son, "I've got your worms in my purse honey." So is Solano one of the places not being planted due to the Caltrout lawsuit or is there another reason? Mike
yeah lake solano is not being planted. i hav noticed during the summer a lot of bigger fish move dwn there to get away from the heat cause its a little deeper and slower then putah. i have seen big trout cruising the bank along the weeds. if they were bows or browns i couldnt tell ya.
