Next Thursday evening, August 13, Dr. Gary Chang, Chairman of Putah Creek Trout, will be making a presentation to the PCC as part of the "Creek Speak" series. Gary's talk will focus on the Trophy Trout Fishery in the Interdam Reach. This is a great opportunity to get an update on the status of what is a favorite destination for many of us.
The talk will be at the Winters Community Center, 201 Railroad Ave (across the park from Steady Eddies Restaturant) from 7-8:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public so please plan to attend.
Yes; about 6 of these are being shown to the Fish and Game Commission tomorrow during Gary's presentation of our request for reg changes to year around C/R in the creek.
The Commission meetings are quite an experience. Today was the Coastal Preserve group. There were 172 two minute presentations scheduled by the the public supporters/detractors of those new regs. Can you imagine sitting through 6 hours of listening to opinions on the same subject? But thats the democratic process in action. Gary and I left after it was amply clear that they were not going to move through item agenda 2 (coastal regs) to item 18 (sportsfishing regs) today.
After tomorrow, we will enter the next phase of the process: public comment (support). We will be requesting the forum members support, so stay tuned for your opportunity to contribute to what we hope will be a successful campaign.
