Keith's day on the Bitterroot River

My next stop was the Bitterroot River in Missoula, Montana.
We got on the river at 8:00 am due to the hot weather and fished until after 7:00 pm.

The main river wasn't fishing well at all so we walked up a couple of spring creeks stalking brown trout that were hanging out in the cool clear water.  It was really exciting stealthily stalking these browns. They were VERY finicky, which made hooking up even more exciting.  There was one spring creek that we hiked up over 3 miles fishing the entire way. This was definitely the way to go because I really began  hammer over a dozen browns, and one lone rainbow.

The smallest brown was 16" and the largest was 23 1/4" and yes, I put the tape measure on him.

My next stop is Bozeman, Montana and Paradise Valley.
