Keith's Road Trip

Today I began my summer road trip.  My first stop is the Columbia River in Castlegar, British Columbia. I fished with Chris Dawson (a fly fishing author) who is also a Guide with Dave Brown Outfitters of http://www.davebrownoutfitters.com

This is an enormous river with strong currents which grows very powerful rainbows, actually a steelhead holdover from before the building of all the dams on the Columbia in Washington.  It was extremely hot during my trip but I still managed several very nice fish on hoppers and caddis.  This is an amazing place to sight fish to pods of cruising rainbows.

The first fish is a 21" rainbow, the 2nd a 15" rainbow and the third a 23" hog.

I'll be posting more photos as I continue my travels through Missoula Montana, Bozeman Montana, Livingston Montana, Cameron Montana, Jackson Hole Wyoming and finally the SOuth Fork of the SNake in Idaho.

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
