Ive been hitting up the pit the last few weeks. went camping last weekend and the weekend before at deer creek campground with my cousin and had a blast both times! we caught a bunch of fish big and small. first trip the best was an 18 inch bow and a bunch of other ones in the 12-15 inch range. i would post pics of the first trip but after i took a picture of a fish i put it back in my pocket and leaned over to take the flies out of the net and "plop" there goes my camera. what a pity.... it was a waterproof one but unfortunately it took a trip downriver and i couldnt find it. the second trip produced like the first except the biggest fish was a 17 inch whitefish. also on the way out we ran into a friend on the side of the road...

Nice job on the Pit there Robby! Sorry to hear about the camera. I think most of us have lost a camera to the rivers at one time or another, at least you were able to wade safely without injuries. Everyone I talk to says they have either twisted an ankle or knee on the Pit. This weekend looks like the last weekend to hit the Pit for six months. There are signs saying the road will be closed from July 6th through December 1st. I think they are putting in campgrounds or something. Here's a few pics from last weekend. Some of the fattest fish I have ever seen.
Myself my son and his friend just returned from the Pitt last night,we did really well with one fish landed about 19 or 20" and the rest 12 to 15" as well. We also fished Baum LK, Barrett LK & Lost Creek and did well in all of those, we ended the trip with a climb to the sumit of Mt Lassen and made it to the top and back to the parking lot in just under 2 hrs, we ran a little going up and ran the entire way down. Thats what happens when you hang out with a couple of 14 year olds!!
