I liked that floriston stretch we fished last time on the truckee. A day on the east walker sounds kinda tastey too. Or half day floating milton reservoir, Did good there few weeks ago. Lots of options, Gonna be a blast. Looks like I might not be there till thursday evening or friday morning now, Have to see what I can work out, Cough....cough...Possible sick day coming, I feel it !

We fished the MF Feather over Memorial Day weekend, and got into some NICE fish up there, don't forget about that one. If you want good lake fishing, Martis Lake is 4 minutes from the front door. Lahontans are in there as well as large rainbows. The stop for a dustcutter on the way home from the MF Feather at The Sierra Valley Lodge is an epic stop as well.
The Truckee will be in prime shape by then. I would be up for a lower river run there as well. Shawn, Apparently a new virus of the H1N1 strain has been found. It is centered in the Berkeley-Martinez area. The only know cure is time spent at higher altitude, i.e. over 5,000 feet. Should this cure not be followed, certain death will occur. I suggest you get your butt up to Truckee as soon as possible. We'll be up Wednesday afteroon waiting for you. You want to make sure that you get up there before we drain the Blue Coyote.
I think there might be one additional opening available as I have not heard from Lil' Whippersnapper, should anyone be interested.

I think our timing is going to be perfect for this trip. Here is the latest Reno fly shop report:
In California the river is in really good shape from Lake Tahoe to the Boca Bridge. Flows are 232 CFS in Truckee. It is still a little early in the year for any hatches but the nymph fishing has been really good. From the Boca Bridge to the state line the flows are still a little high at 600 to 750 CFS. The fishing has been good but be careful wading out too deep. Try green drake nymphs with a smaller dropper such as a caddis, little yellow stone, or baetis. In Nevada the flows are a little high but the bugs are just starting to hatch, especially east of town. Nymphing with green drakes, golden stones, little yellow stones and bottom rollers all have been working. The fish are near the banks and in seams and slower water. Flows in Nevada are between 500 and 600 CFS
Excellent report! - I just tied some of the poxyback Green Drakes on the bottom of this page (http://stevenojai.tripod.com/poxypmd.htm) and some of Hogan's golden stones.
The funny thing, I was fishing with Frank on Memorial Day weekend, and we were nymphing. Action was slow, so I changed out to a Parachute Adams and got 5 fish in about 25 minutes. One was a nice fish and a I lost 1 REAL nice one. You never know what's going to happen there sometimes!!!
