Spent about four hours on the creek yesterday. The rain seemed to have no effect, the water seemed to be clearer than usual. Saw two bait guys, thats it.
One fish for me at about hour two. Six inchs, took it on the swing.
After bushwacking through 6' tal black berries, (because I'm an idiot), I came up a steep poison oak infested trail to the road. Low an behold, I found my Fly Box! The one I lost 6 weeks ago!
Daily tally: one six inch wild rainbow; 27 scratches on arms, kneck, and face; most likely poison oak: Perhaps a tick or two: and $150 bucks worth of my flies back!
Not a bad day for me, I'll be back for more next week.
you want a 30" brown? $150.00 bucks worth of gas will get you round trip to lake Edison. go across the lake to the mouth of Mono Creek in October, record Browns spawn up Mono creek from the lake! and they are not leader shy. October Caddis!
So Stoked to find it. I had a good idea where I lost it and serched that area pretty thoroughly, I thout, but there it was. The grass by the side of the road was laying down, I guess after the rain and I saw the corner sticking out.
No longer do I have to hide my fly shop receipts from my wife. I've been going to fly shops and searching the "bargain", bins for flies that work for me at the creek. I've even modified some of the bargains to make them look like I want. I would learn to tie um, but my fingers are retarded.
