Hey, Nebie here for the Putah. I was reading over some of the previous posts and was just wondering what fishing in the Redds means. It seems people are not very fond of fishing in the Redds and was just wondering what was meant by that. Im headed up tomorrow and dint wanna be "that guy" ha Thanks, Stephen
A redd is where the fish cleans a spot in the rocks and deposit's her eggs.Once you learn what a redd looks like and what type of ground condition they spawn in you be able to avoid stepping on them....Spawn is over and wont start up again till fall...
Fished yesterday for a couple hours and for nada still learning kinda difficult when the rivers so high to get good casts in. Did see like 3 or 4 people using spinning equipment and big hooks probably not barbless....which was dissapointing. Theres signs all over the place that warn against it..
I fished from #5 to #3 yesterday with only one 10" dink to show for it. At dusk, I tried above the bridge a bit and hooked into a good fish that looked to be between 18 to 20," but I was asleep at the wheel when she hit and she threw the hook after an awesome jump. I remember having pretty good luck around this time last year, but it's been really tough lately.
