My Simms waders, not quite a year old, have started "sweating" water inside. I dont know how else to describe it. After a long day on the creek, pulled the left leg out ,nice and dry. My right leg however, was soaked from mid shin down. Rang about a beercan's worth of Putah out of my sock and figured a got thorned. a Few days I sought to find the culprit. I turned them inside out and filled them in the tub looking for a leak. What I found was that they seemed to slowly get wet spots, like when you touch the inside of a rainy tent, but not on seams and no holes. I noticed the area appears to have rubbed(scrape would be a stretch) a rock or log.I thought about spreading aqua seal but thought it would counter breathability. Can I apply a waterproofing compound( DWR seems like the product I've heard of) to the outside? On a related note, Merino wool is great. The leak was unknown to me until I took off the waders because the Merino wool sock actually can keep you warm when wet. I had heard this before, now I believe it. It made a bad situation bearable.

I'm willing to bet that simms would repair or replace the waders if you sent them in. Aqua seal would work fine, But i think if you use it the warranty is void. I'd aqua seal em and go fishing.
I used to work for a fly shop in Marin that is a complete Simms dealer. You definitely don't want to spread Aqua Seal on those waders if you are still thinking of using the Simms factory warranty. Within the first year Simms will repair the problem for free or if they deem it is a factory defect, they will replace the waders and ship them back to you. If they are less than a year old, I would use it! They will check out your waders for other issues. Their repairs are typically very good too if they don't replace them.
You will have to pony up a sales receipt if you send them direct to Simms or you can also take them to a Simms dealer to have them do it. Know this though, a Simms dealer will add a surcharge to the shipping cost. I used to get repairs or replacements back in about 10 days.
Good luck!
