While my parents were out skiing, i did what most of us would do, go fishing. I hit the little truckee on saturday at the boca inlet and up a little ways on the little t. The fishing wasnt amazing but it wasnt bad. I caught 5 nice 13-17 inch rainbows at the boca inlet while my friend pulled in two more good sized one. We drove up river and it was slow until about 430. In a half an hour my friend caught an 18 inch brown and we lost two 20 + inch fish. We saw them both and both were rainbows that put up a good fight...
The brown that we caught was amazing. It had a really cool blue spot on his head that was beautiful!

Hmmmmmm... skiing or fishing? Good call!
Congrats on a great day out there. Very nice brown with a honkin tail. That's a day maker.
Would you say the stream fished OK at 212 cfs?

well, if you can find the fish, it could be worth it. i was using a skwala dry with a pt nymph with about 3 feet of tippit. thats what i used for the boca inlet and i fished right above the bucket. on the creek, we nymphed with san juans, skwala nymphs and a black spft hackle. it isnt amazing but you could catch some nice fish!

nice job live 2 fish. i also fished it. today actually. the lt is producing, if you can time it right, its one of those rivers that you can fish it all day and only have a window of say an hour when you hooke all your fish. today i brought 2 friends with me today. a newbie to fly fishing, got 2 nice 16-18" rainbows hooked 4, one of my good buddies landed 3 hooked 5. 18-20" rainbows, and i hooked 7 landed 3, 1 18" brown, 2 nice fat chucky rainbows one being a buck that almost hit 22"s. which is my lil truckee best for a rainbow.

we fished it from 10am to 2pm, only 4 hours and the fishing was constant all day.

just like you said you find them and its only. seems like they are starting to post up for the prespawning, a lot of beautiful color fish in the river right now. not to long now until they are doing their thing.

nice post live2fish

i dunno whats happening on the walker but the little t was a hit and miss. it was on for an hour then it shut down then came back. but if you hit up the little t hit up the boca inlet and we were hammering them at the white bucket with a skwala dry and then a 18 pt dropper about 2 1/2 feet of tippet. up on the creek it was happening on and off on a black soft hackle and san juans. i expect to see some pics jm032!! and im waiting for some pics bc!!

Booyah!! Those are some nice fish!!  You fish the inlet to Boca?..I haven't been down that far yet.

So I'm pretty sure we're going to the LT.  I just checked the weather and it's supposed to be a high of 41 and windy though.  Sucks that this bad weather is rolling in the one day I have to go fishing, but oh well those pics get me pumped!!
