The IDR of the creek (dam to Lake Solano) will typically be discolored by feeder streams for several days after a consistent rain . With more rain forecast, it will be awhile before it will be clear again. Some do fish it when its muddy, but the catch rate is lower than when its clear (and clear water rates are bad enough for most of us). Some of the worst feeders are upstream closer to the dam. The clear out typically starts near the dam and works its way down. Good luck if you try it now.
Drove over the bridge yesterday on my way back from Geyserville and it was pretty choc-o-tastic. For the record where Putah flows behind Davis actually clears up pretty nice before the algae bloom in late summer. When I was in school there I used to sight fish for largemouth bass with a pretty good success rate! A couple years ago I landed one that came close to 10lbs. It can be worth exploring for bass or carp if you have limited options...

the biggest largemouth I've ever caught was from lower putah creek around winters, Its was around 10 lbs as well, Also got my largest ever smallmouth from the same spot. Theres trout down there also.
