Sad news, but we all know this has been getting to be more and more of a concern....Some depressing facts thrown out in the article:
"At first glance, the two-year study by California Trout is all about fish. Of 31 trout, salmon and steelhead species, 65 percent are headed toward extinction this century."
It is sad to see the decline of Trout, Steelhead and Salmon, but they say that dams are causing problems. Some of the best fishing in the state is behind a big dam. The lower sac had declining populations of salmon until they started releasing flows from the bottom of the dam. Now it has to be one of the best trout, salmon and steelhead fisheries in the state. Tailwaters can be good for the fish if managed properly.
The comments by speedhead at the bottom of the article are funny. "America is one of the cleanest nations on the planet, government regulation won't help" The only reason the US has been cleaned up is from government regulations. If the EPA didn't create the Clean Water Act etc. etc. then where would we be. What an idiot!
