well left work early, more like played hooky. rolled out at 3pm, wanting to get some evening fishing in on the ar. got home and packed the jeep, right before i was leaving 4pm my lunch was a calling so there goes 5mins. freaking chipotle. oh well it was good. get on the road and turned prematurely and have to back track another 5mins, then on the road to recovery, there is a cop in front of me. i am not speeding or have my music blaring, he gets in the other lane behind a biker which i though was because he was speeding and his exhaust was stupid load. well i pasted the cop at legal speed he got behind me and pulled me over. after 15mins he sited me for 3 citations, bald tires, no front lics plate, and my fenders are not wide enough, meaning they dont cover the tires. i could tell he was a STINKING rookie trying to show off to the vet, when he came back with the ticket i asked him about my fender flares, he said oh i forgot to put that on the ticket ill be right back. what a BLANK BLACK. so he then comes back and tells me the regs on the flares which he was wrong, you are allowed a 1/2" of underhang, meaning your tire can show 1/2" past your flares, he then tells me about my back tires being bald, i said show me, he showed me how the wear bar is showing, there was still some tread left there but i didnt fit it, then he told me about the lics plate, missing upfront, couldnt argue about that one. shoot all i wanted to do was get in the water after that point. lets see 4 new tires 800 bucks new, new flares 250, lics plate well i have it just have to get screws so what 5 bucks, STINKING rookies, he didnt even say go get it fixed and be oh your way, nope a fix a ticket and need to be done by 12-31, doesnt he know christmas is coming, ARSHOLE. man i was so pissed. so get down to the golf course and get into the waders as fast as i could, and left, had to go back cuz i forgot the camera, then back i go again. booked it as fast as i could walking, got stopped by dfg asking if i knew the regs and told him yes. finally got on the water, and not a single sign of life (fisherman or fish), i was fishing by about 5pm, because sunset was at 4:54. threw out my usual with nothing, then went to a dry fly for a big zero, at about 5:15 i could see the baseball field lights from the other side of the river come on, it was gettin dark, and gettin harder to see, so when back to my go to indicator set up, withing 5 casts fish on, nothing great, but a great fight, gave me some more air shows, never had the AR steelies do that, but its nice to see that every one that i have hooked this yr as had some aireal assults, it was a blast wish it was on the 5wt with a dry, but it was fun on the 7wt. finally got it to hand and my flys where all tangled up, so took a quick pic, sent the fish a packing within a few seconds a fish surfaces for a dry right where i released him, funny huh. look back at the tangled mess and start cuttin away line, until i am left with a bead and a hook and go at it for another 10mins until i cant see my indicator at all and call it a day. so after a horrible start it ended up ok with a fish to hand and the river to myself.
oh one thing to add, talked to my buddies at american fly, talked about the trinity, they asked if i have been up there, told them just before the closure of the hatchery i was, told them how i did, and they asked me about the brown that i caught, told them it was more a chromey brown, which i have never seen or caught before and told them this thing had some really nasty teeth. they said teeth huh, well guess what you caught, a SEA RUN BROWN. yup thats right a sea run brown, the have some narly teeth and normal brown trout do not. i remember the teeth because this guy gobbled my fly way down in its mouth and i tried to get it out by hand but i got a lil cut up by the teeth, so needed the pliers, figured i share that with you all.
here is the pic of tonights catch nothing crazy but another wild big half pound buck.

well its border line i can tell you that, one that if it was a veteran cop i probably wouldnt have been given a ticket, considering the other 2 are a definite citations, its like come on bro, do you understand how much it is to get that stuff fixed, i even asked him that, he said oh well you shouldnt have bought a jeep, but just so you know i have one too. STINKING prick, no offense wyturp. its just that rookies are asses. plan and simple. they try to be the best and punch out the most tickets that they can. thats all he was doing. i could understand the fender flares and the lics plate but come one tires, just go have your donuts, and talk on your cell phone while you are driving you hypocrite. again no offense wyteurp. just venting my frustration on the law department of things, please i dont speed, i dont drink and drive, i dont drive erraticly anymore now that i have the jeep, you know whats funny, is a call came over the radio about a ford expedition, swerving in and out of traffic driving erraticly, and speeding right in the area we were at, actually it was just down the street so he must have just past us, and what does he want to do, give the veteran 3 stupid f-cking tickets, go do your job you rookie, pull over the speeders and no do gooders, not one that is just trying to go fishing.
on a good note, might be going back into the service, as a reservist. dod civilian, more than likely be on the u-2 spy plane again and beale, air force has 100% tuition pay now to, that should be nice. looks like i need to get back into shape, someone at my height 6ft needs to be at 202lbs, so i have a few fat lbs to get rid of. other than that i am really thinking about it.
see you all on the water, soon i hope.
