Since the www.putahcreektrout.org is not a fly fishing site, and its linked to this site as the only forum, will all of us evil spinfisherman be accepted into the fold, so to speak ,if we participate in this forum? Or will there be a forum on that site soon where all anglers can come discuss trout fishing on putah creek ? There could be a s(p)inners forum here where a guy could get constructive feedback and helpful suggestions from those that consider themselves stewerds of the fishery. Some of us might even be swayed into the light!
Putah Creek Trout is not a new forum to replace this one; its purpose is to promote stewardship of the creek for all who use it-see the Projects and Help Us pages. The creek is under intense pressure from fishermen and women, year around. The "dark side", if you choose to call it that, is not defined by what method you use to catch fish, or if they are kept; its when its done illegally in disregard of the regulations or threatens the health of the fish by adding unnecessary stress while they spawn (for example). We all suffer from that behavior. We welcome all new members to PCT who want to improve and protect this invaluable fishery.

Not so much about what kind of reel is attached to your stick as what is going thru your head!
Good stuff!

I used the term dark side humorously ( actually stole it from shon42073 referring to me coming over from the dark side) I understand the purpose of the putah creek trout site and its about time. I had a bit of comfusion with the button that is just marked forum that brought me back here. I must say that you are one of very few on this site that have said the obvios "is not defined by what method you use to catch fish, or if they are kept; its when its done illegally in disregard of the regulations or threatens the health of the fish" I think putah creek needs enforcement by DFG of the regs in place and (despite the negative appearance) large signs on all trails above high water stating clearly regulations and fines for violations. One thing I notice is there seems to be no signs at the resort which is a major contributor ( if not the major contributor) to the trash problem. I fish the slower deep holes starting at the fire truck and move north and I notice the trash become less as you move north and the more difficult the access. Thanks for the words of support foer everyone who fishes the creek (legaly and responsibly)
