If you head up there I hope you land a few. I'm headed up that way for a 5 day trip in mid Oct. The trinity is always good oct-feb, my favorite month to head up that way is mid november, its cold but well worth it.

i wont be back until sept 27, but i would be happy to join you, and i think a few others on this site are waiting to go back up there too. like emerger, jt, and lil whippersnapper. but ya i would say mid to late oct would be a prime time, or gettin into prime time.

Brian,

Sounds good. I will send you a personal message with some of my contact info if you need to get ahold of me directly. I was thinking about a camping/fly fishing trip up there(to save money on the motel rooms). Is this what you were thinking too? Maybe like a long weekend. I am flexible. Lets see what the other guys say, also...

Best Regards,

Colin

I'm not planning on fishing the Trinity until late October or early November. I'll let you guys know the exact dates as we get closer.

Colin: I live in San Mateo too, we should carpool sometime. I'll probably be fishing Putah this Sunday, let me know if you're interested in coming along.

Brian,

Yea, maybe we can do some quick day trips up to putah. I am guessing that the majority of the guys on this board are in my position(work mon-fri 8am-5pm). I was hoping to get a camping/fishing trip setup for one of these upcoming weekends( tentatively 1st weekend of Nov ). Maybe drive up on a thurs night and leave Sun night). If I am going to drive 5 hours to get there I would like to fish it at least 2-3 days. I would try to get Fri off of work(if not I would just call in sick). Maybe you could join Emerger and I this Sunday.

Emerger: Does this sound like something you might want to do(trinity)? Also yes, I would like to join you for a Putah trip this Sunday, sounds fun. I will PM you my number.

Brian,

I forgot to ask you, I was checking out some of your salmon fishing pics on myspace. Where are you catching these monsters at? Crazy.

i caught all of them at the basin, the big 50lber i caught with a secret weapon that i will never tell, its a early season trick that i found out one day while searching online, i caught him may 28th 2007, ya i said MAY, 17lb main line 10lb leader line, took me just over an hour to bring him in, i am glad i had my 10'6" rod that day, its a medium action rod and protected that 10lb leader like a champ, the rest of the salmon i caught beading.

cant do this sunday, ill just be gettin back from vacation and will be needing a day to relax before i go back to work.

we will figure something out. i know i am very excited to get back and get into some putah hogs and some steelhead, i have been hearing of some good action on the AR for steelies so far.

Colin I'm sure i'll see you and emerger if your gonna hit putah this weekend. Hey emerger, make sure this guy is alright before you show em some "honey holes" rofl.gif Its at 380 now that hole has got to be fishable this weekend, i'll freakin get wet if needed this time.

that honey hole is very fishable at 380, the side that i normally fish will be ok, you will have to stand closer to the bank but its doable, now the side you like to fish with the log and where you like to swing you flys is very very fishable at 380. man i need to get back. oh ya and its crossable at 400. but be careful. stay on the top of the tail out and way infront of the pile of crap.

Hey Shaun,

Did you have any luck after Emerger and I moved on the other day. I didnt get a single hit on the streamer all day.

No I didn't land any fish that day. But it was very nice to see a massive intense hatch at putah its been awhile since i've experienced that there. BWO's and Caddis, and something else that I'm not sure of ,was getting to dark to tell. All in that spot we all 3 fished, Very good spot there.
