Got out about 3:30 PM and tight lined my way up and around the split. Landed a few fish, but all small. Switched to indicator nymphing with a prince nymph and red copper john and hooked two nice fish right away.
Moved on and had no luck for about 30 minutes, then went up stream toward number 4, nymphing the whole way. No luck.
Got sick of the bobber and tied on a streamer with a sinking line and fished back to the split. Landed 4 and lost another, 1 over 14 inches, the rest between 10-14 inches. 3 I think were planters, two were natives.
Great mayfly hatch the whole evening, and when the light left the water the fish in my favorite spot were rising everywhere. Best imitation I had was a #20 para adams, and it got 10 takes in about 20 good drifts. Damn thing was I couldn't hook em. Only got one on for a few secs. The others were either refusals or fish with bad aim.
Fishing's about to get great with flows coming down.
