Last May, I accidentally grabbed my backup pair of waders and went shad fishing in the American River. I waded deeper than I normally would wade. I noticed a slow leak on my left side above my waist line. The location of the leak was in a non-critical area, so I didn't think much of it.
Last week, I finally decided to bring those waders to the local shop for Patagonia to fix the leak. What the heck, at worst it was going to cost me $25 to cover the shipping and insurance. Last Monday, I stopped by the shop. I had a brand new pair of Patagonia Watermaster 2 waders waiting for me. Patagonia warrantied my old 2002 model. I wasn't even charged a fee.
The reality of it all is that warranties aren't thought of much until they have to be used. I'm glad I bought a product from a company that stands by its warranty.
That's good information to know--assuming that you've had them for six years! And, I thought I received a great deal from Cabela's after 2 plus years and no questions asked...People keep giving Patagonia high praise! Definitely, something to consider when purchasing my next pair of waders.
