Thanks Steve for bringing this to the forum.I too have been catching more small fish in the creek lately,in fact on Friday my client caught a 10" rainbow with absolutley zero spots but we couldn't take a picture due to no camera!Anyway this wild trout program is a very important step in turning Putah into the the fishery it was 20 years ago and this type of info is a key part of the building blocks we need.Thanks to all for you're support. Also dont forget about the coastal cleanup day on Putah on Sept 20th.

I would like to participate in on the cleanup on the 20th, but will probably be out of town that day. Can I contribute a little cash to it for supplies, etc? If so, who would I send it to?

I fully support Putah Creek being adopted by Trout Unlimited or similar organizations as a wild trout fishery. This would limit the bait and take that occurs with reckless abandon on the Putah.

This past Saturday, I caught 10 rainbows around 12 inches and a couple of larger ones as well. I did not, however, capture their images via my digital.

Thanks for the post Doc-Mac and welcome. I hope you completed one of the surveys. We need pictures of plants as well for comparison to the wild fish and to help out those on the board that may not be sure of the difference(s) between the two. The plants typically fall into the 11-14" size range.

I think sept. 20th is to early for a cleanup, the spin fishers will still have almost two months to trash our creek. But I figure anytime for a cleanup is a good time, I'll defenitly be there. Everyone should try and make it, It's a great way to meet some new fishing freinds, I've met alot of people on this board and have yet to meet anyone that I wouldn't fish with anytime ! Thanks for posting the info Sk60.

PutahCreekTrout.org is still in need of pictures of small Putah Creek trout that they can provide to the DFG as they consider Putah Creek for Wild Trout status.

If you catch any Putah Creek trout 12" or less please photograph them and email the photographs�to me at�

keith@webdesignbykeith.com

Also, don't forget to fill out a Putah Creek Angler Survey�each and every time you fish Putah Creek whether or not you catch anything.

Thanks JL. Great evidence of natural reproduction in the creek. These will make there way to DFG very soon.
