Can anyone recommend a waterproof digital camera?

I bought a Pentax Optio W10 a few years back. I'm sure there is a latest and greatest of the Optio W series of cameras. I bought it off the recommendation of the Ritz Camera salesguy. I told him my needs for a camera (packable, waterproof, safe in salt water environments, able to make videos, highest megapixels (at the time) for such a small camera... blah blah blah), and the Optio W10 was the recommendation. I did some homework earlier, and that was what I was leaning towards. Also my fishing buddies have Pentax Optio W digis, too.

I'm sure that there are more features available in today's cameras compared to the 2006 model that I purchased. Try to figure out the features you need, and go from there. It can't be that much harder than buying a new rod.

I second the recommendation fro the Pentax Optio W series.  The newest model is the W30.  I tested out the waterproof feature last week on the Pit.  Anybody who's waded the Pit River knows what I'm talking about.  Any other camera would have toast.

Good post I was thinking about this same thing. I've been thinking about getting a waterproof digi before I do something like lose my hat. Is that where it's floating JT? The Pit?

Yeah, the Pit River made me sacrifice my hat before it let me catch any of its fish.  So I gave up my dirty old hat in exchange for a bunch of fiesty rainbows.

Hey, Brian--just looked at the recommended Pentex and Olympus the other day. My Sony Cyber-shot takes great pics. Unfortunately, one of these days I'm afraid its number will be up!  I know you'll show off some great hogs in the next few months!!!
