I got my first set of flies in the mail today from Packrat. Dude those are some smokin hot flies. Matter of fact I'm keeping all of them. Just kiddin. The wierd thing was I had a steelhead dream last night and I rarely have fish dreams. Tomorrow morning I point the car north and when I came back next week maybe some more flies will be in the mail.
Glad you like them, they have worked great for me before on the Russian near Cloverdale, they just need to be fully soaked with water before the sink well. I kind of massage them under water with my fingers to really get the leather on the rabbit strips completely wet. Takes a minute or two then they sink nicely.
Two more sets of flies came today. Emerger and I think Black Cloud's flies? Thanks guys. Cliff right on for covering the RL's, I thought about tying those at the beginning of the swap but decided against it so I am glad you filled the spot. Needless to say I was shocked when I opend the next box. Some serious art in there and you make fish carvings too! Wow. Well I'm pumped for sure. I peeked over the fence today and the Russian is very "Bassy" looking right now. A small bikini hatch was in the works however so not all bad. Drop that dam and give me some rain, let's roll.
This concerns me a little because I sent them out a week ago Thursday. If you dont get them by the end of this week let me know and I will tie up another batch and get them out by the end of the first week in Sept... I know that's a week after the due date, but looking at the date today it's almost the due date anyways. I apologize for any inconvience this might cause.
They came today WT and they are sweet. It's like Xmas everyday when I get to work more flies keep showing up. Can't wait to have them all so I can get them back out. I need to get tying and I think I may do 2 sets. Somethinig easy that doesn't take too much time, If I am not mistaken that would make 11 sets so we could be one closer. I may have the 12th spot filled but I'm not sure yet.
In the mail box tonight, in the mail tomorrow. hahaha
