Hit the creek on Saturday. Pretty slow one fish to hand. Decided to float down to the car. Shortened up the leader to fish the shallow water. Threw a fly into Cliff's corner. Wham got bit. missed it. Threw back in and wham fish on. The fish took off downstream into the riffles. No control and lots of line out it was crazy. I floated through the riffle fighting the fish. Landed it at the end of the riffle.
Looks like that fish caught you. Nice fish! I'm heading out there tomorrow night for the first time in awhile. Hopefully, I can bring back my own story.
Good luck out there JMO. That's funny that you said the fish caught me. As I was floating by one of the campers he said "Looks like you have a nice fish there!" As the fish shot down river and I was battling to turn it. I replied "I'm not sure if I have the fish or the fish has me." Best battle of the summer!
Otter, that's a beauty. Sounds like it was an epic battle. Were you fishing an indicator system or high-sticking? What did she hit? Also, what general region were you tubing in that day? I saw some water that would be reasonable for tubing, but it looks pretty sketchy for a long float. I would imagine that most people would tube in the deeper water down low.
i got a 1 man howie cat pontoon and will be floating soon. anyone want to join. maybe a dam float or lake solona or both. shoot this thing opens up some major fishing water.
THANKS BLACK CLOUD.
