Got out to the creek Sunday evening around 5:00 PM. There were a few mayflies in the air, but it was pretty windy. Tied on my typical tightline rig for my usual access 5 loop (similar to MX-19's access 5 loop I'm sure), and had at it.
Well, I got two decent fish to hand (12-14 inches) in one pool, and then switched to a regular nymph rig and moved on down stream. Ran into Nick, forget his handle, but he was a nice kid (I say kid cause he didn't look a day over 22 - 23).
He was having a decent time with a couple fish to hand. Our fish were coming on micro mays.
Anyway, I moved down below nick and prompty hooked a nice fish (16-17 inches) and he pulled me around for a while, and I was holding him against the current with not too much tension when he came unbuttoned and my rig flew up into the trees behind me.
Turns out Nick was watching this and got a good laugh.
Later that night tightlining with a poopah and fishing with a caddis dry yielded some nice fish, last one at dark went about 14 inches on a dry. Pretty nice.
It was a good day that afternoon for the both of us. I only stayed for a little while longer and got 1 more to hand on the way out. The fishing was pretty good, we both seemed to have action in every hole. I got all my fish on olive cali's and olive fox pupahs. And thanks for the age complement, but im actully 28. heh.
