Fingerling rescue

Ken Davis, stream biologist, has reported the presence of fingerling trout in Cold Creek.  These fish will he come trapped and die when the creek dries up later.  If you have a fine mesh net and are there, you might want to try a different kind of trout fishing to help the population grow.  It is particularly disturbing that Ken saw some kids  collecting the fingerlings in a bucket, probably to play with.  if you go, take a bucket yourself to transfer your catch.

I saw em in there about 2 weeks ago, i was surprised how many i saw in there, I was also surprised at how fast they grow, They were about 2 inches and they were taking midges right off the surface. Good call on the rescue idea SK60.

A friend and I are going up this afternoon to look at the siltation and see if we can net a few. They are in a pool above the "boulder dam", according to Ken, and not easy to net, but we'll give it a try.
