Packrat and SCM,

Guys, thanks again for all the tips/pic. Certainly clarified. I'll put it to good use...

I tie my just as Packrat describes, only I use fine gauge gold or silver wire for the ribbing...one tie I added a little krystal flash to the marabou.  Also I used a black monochord, 3/0 I think to really lash down all of the material. If you don't want to tie the Goblin from scratch, you could get away with just glueing a rabbit strip to a whooly bugger...it won't look very clean, but it should work.

Packrat proved the Goblin is effective for Brown Trout, but how about LM Bass? I am thinking about taking my fly rod out for some spring bass fishing. The Goblin seems like a fly that would set-off a territorial largemouth.

I was gonna say... All that is, is rabbit strip on top of a wooly bugger. Looks like a hot fly. I bet bass would hit that. It could imitate a crawdad.
