Fished with a guide from below lake Camanche to the town of Clements just above Lodi. We hooked up with 15+ fish. Most 1/2 pounders, but three wild adults.
If you find the right hole, you can take out lots of fish. We probably took 8 from one hole we stopped at and fished from shore.
No fish under 15", but even the adults were short and FAT.
Fun time. I wish I knew how to access the spots without a guide, but lots of private property on that river.

Good to know memebop thanks for the report! I might be heading out there sometime soon to do a float in kickboats w/ Chris L. What kind of setup/flies were you using? chuck

Kick boats would work great up there. You enter the water near the Lake Comanche dam fish hatchery. Take out at the community park in Clements about a 6.5 - 7 mile drift.
We used roe and egg imatations all day. Saw lots of others using flies and hooking up.
