There's one thing I was wondering.  On other message boards, I can log on using any computer and the posts that I've already read are marked.  When I log on here using different computers, they aren't marked.  I noticed this, because I access the internet from many computers at school.  I suppose the information is stored on the computer that I'm logging in from (cookies?) as opposed to some online database.  Is there any way to change that?  Most likely not but it's worth a shot.

Good question JT.

I'm afraid that they do use cookies, so the posts you read are only tracked on that particular computer.

I have been looking around for a keyword search function. If there isn't one available, it might be nice to provide that function to not only help find information, but reduce repetitive postings on topics covered in other threads. I would suggest a few other topic categories, such as: equipment/product reviews, conservation, and instruction (casting, knot tying, mending, etc.).

There used to be a search function.  I looked for it yesterday, but it wasn't there anymore.

The Keyword Search link is back.

Thanks for the feedback.

I will look into adding those Topics.
Are there any more topics people would like to see added?

I've noticed that I can't post back to back comments. It makes me wait a few minutes before I can post the second comment. Can you make the time limit shorter?

There isn't a time limit.  Not sure what's up.

PM me and I'll try and help.

I've noticed the same thing when I post short comments back to back.  There doesn't seem to be a problem with longer ones, though.  It's probably used to slow down spammers.

To reply to KB's appeal above ("How can we improve this forum?"), the following suggestion: Permit users to either start new rubrics (threads/ topics), or allow them to submit suggestions to new rubrics. For example, I would have liked to have created a new rubric entitled "HOV/Carpooling Fishing Trips" with the following subtitle: "Those offering and those looking for rides and/or fishing buddies". I assume that there are people in my neck of the woods (El Sobrante) who fish Putah Creek and who might like to share the ride, the expenses, and the fishing experiences. Of course, maybe they already fish with a group of buddies, but since people move, become senile, die, or just give it up, there is always the possibility that a particular "crew" is looking for a new member.

Regards,
hatup
