Fished trinity for half the day on thursday. All day friday and 2 hrs on sat morning...Got a chance to fish with 2 of my good friends.I had 6 adult steelies thursday.Fish averaged around 26".Friday I had 10 steellies with about the same average size as thursday.Sat morning I had 2 more.
My friends had a tough time. both guys got the big goose egg all 3 days..I set them up with the same flys and everything..goes to show you how important a good dead drift really is...They would fish the same spot for over an hour and get nothing. Then I would slide in and give the same spot a few drifts and wack, "fish on"...I felt bad the whole time we were fishing..I spend a lot of time helping them as well...It's hard to see your good buddys struggle.
During the trip I caught a few wild steelhead that seem to be heading back out of the river. The largest fish was a wild 28"buck that I caught in front of some guide. that fish took me  about 150 yards down stream and way in to my backing.I had to snake my rod under water, through trees and brush and the thing still remained hooked up... when we took a pic of the fish we made sure to get the guide in the background of the photo....
We used  rubber leg golden stones and a few different hand painted beads.most fish I got were on the golden stones...

Nice reoprt mx19,  I've been wanting to get back up there for some wild action.  Your right a good dead drift is way critical especially in low temp waters.  What size stones were you using?
