Where to fish on the American?

I am looking to fish the American this week by myself.  Have never been there and was just looking for some suggestions for places along the river to fish that aren't too remote since I will be alone.  I have a map.

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.

The way I learned to fish the American is to go where the people are. If there are fish to be caught people will be there. There is no solitude on the A during steelhead time. As for spots, the top 2 miles are where most of the fish are. Anywhere in the hatchery vicinity is good. Good luck, don't let a few skunkings deter you.

I have no problem getting skunked.  I mainly want to try out my new rod.  I just need to be a little wary of where I go.  Definitely not something you need to worry about as much when you're a guy.  Thanks for the info.
