Hey guys I was wondering if people would like me to start an American River flows/water clarity/and fishability thread..........I live just down the street from it and can provide regular reports about it if you guys want...
Just thought id put it out there i know some people fish it and if ya think its a good idea let me know
i know dreamflows tells you the flow and water temp. water clarity is always a plus, fishability would be hard unless you talk to a good amount of people. i just got off the phone with al from american fly fishing, and my report from yesterday has been the best that he has heard of in a while. people are out there catching fish, just not that many.
american river flows 950-980 water temp is 47' f
clarity as of yesterday about 3 -3 1/2ft, fishablility is ok, many streamer guys hooking up, but all they are doing is swinging flies infront of the redds, not really fishin if you ask me. steelheads natural instinct is to eat even if they are spawning. so fishing the redds to me is way to easy. i personally was nymphing just like i would putah, and i did very well for only my 3rd time out fly fishing the american.
