you guys are unbelieveable. a guy has a great day, and you have to bust his ass about it.

WOW YOU REALLY GOT TO LOVE THE COMRADERY ON THIS SITE.

I WONT LET YOU GUYS BREAK MY SPIRIT.

as far as this great man. hey lets make this a riddle. we all know you guys are wise asses but are your asses wise. lets see how smart you guys really are.

he is great man, a knowledgable man, he is very humble, he doesnt get the recognition that he should, he busts his ass to make things happen, he is always watching over us, he has done more for us behind scenes that we can even relate to, and he is a master.

can you guess who he is.

HAVE FUN!

Maybe I am in the minority here, BUT, for me its not always about catching a bunch of fish or catching a big fish, If the reason you flyfish is to rack up sheer numbers of fish so one can brag, Well I must say you need to reavaluate why you fish.

I'm just as happy coming home skunked as I am when I come home with a full stringer....did I just say that! (kidding, haven't kept a fish in years)

For me it's all about the wilderness experience. This is one of my all time favorite quotes, it's from John Muir:

Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountain is going home; that wildness is necessity; that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.

- John Muir

You are reaching really far on that one Packrat. a great man you say you are. KEEP DREAMING.

wizard in waders. wow thats a good one too. i guess you have been hanging around to many kids lately. hence the childish remarks.

one more hint. his initials are K.B.

just so everyone knows, i have gotten skunked before, and i got my ass handed to me on monday. i hooked 3 fish and didnt land a single one. as long as i am out there with the water between my feet and a fly rod in my hand. i really dont care what happens as long as i am having fun. either way it goes landing fish or not, i have fun, even a few days after fishing, i am still enjoying the day, cuz my bones give me the reminder of my fishing experience called PAIN.

you learn alot about yourself on the days you get skunked. you learn from your mistakes, and gain the knowledge for next time out.

You know, I could be watching American Idol with my wife and youngest daughter right now, but this is way more entertaining!!!!!!  They could make a Seinfeld episode out of humor that flies around on this website.  This is hilarious, seriously!  In my younger days, I was a wildland firefighter for 5 years and I thought the s*** was flipped at our fire station, but this stuff is right up there with it.

Packrat has got it right, it's about the fishing adventure and what you learn on the journey. When you catch fish that is the bonus. I catch alot  of fish and I also get skunked, I just don't broadcast the results to those  who "Want to know or need to know".

wasnt this forum made for posting about your day. i didnt know you made the rules for this forum black cloud. where are these regs at so i can read them again.

this forum is for posting about your day. whether you got skunked or not. who cares. seriously get over it. i have a great day i post about it. then my close fishing buddies will pm me ask me a few questions about the day and i tell them what i was using and where i was at. if i get skunked i post about it as well.

lahontan had a great day on the creek, he posted about it. frog had a good day on the creek he posted about it. capn paul had a nice day on the creek he posted about it. jt when he goes out he post about it. the captain he posts about his day no matter what as well. we all do. do you see a pattern here.

that is what this forum is made for. posting about you experiences on the creek. whether it was a great day, an ok day or a crappy day.

this is all i have to say to a select few on this site.

i am soooo sorry that every time that i go out fishing, i catch fish. yes its not about catching fish, its about having fun and learning new things and being one with nature, but if you catch fish that is a plus, if i just hook up with a fish, that just makes my day. i fish putah atleast once a week almost every week. and i have been doing that since Aug 5th 07, yes only 5 mths, every time i fish i fish it hard, very hard and very thurough. i may not have 1000 dollar set up of rods and reels, and 60-100 dollar fly lines that some of you come out with to putah, thats not what it is about. you dont need 1000 dollars worth of equipment to catch fish. i dont need that junk, i dont need a 600 dollar rod, a 400 dollar reel, 400 dollar pair of waders, a 150 dollar fly vest, shoot i roll with a back back, i have hand me down waders from the captain thanks cappy, i use tennis shoes for wading boots until monday, just got hand me down boots from jt thanks again bro, got hand me down gravel guards from sk60 thanks steve, all my rods and reels are used, expect for my reddington which in got on ebay for half the price, i use the 20-30 dollar line. i dont have the money like most of you people do on here. and even if i had the money to buy the expensive stuff i still wouldnt. i am really sick and tired of some of you that think that just because you can afford the pricier rods, reels, and line makes you a better fisherman than those that cant. SORRY BUT I DONT PLAY THAT GAME. money doesnt make the fisherman, expensive items doesnt make the fisherman, THE MAN MAKES THE FISHERMAN. I MAKE DUE WITH WHAT I HAVE, and i do just fine with it. shoot sometimes i am so broke that i shouldnt drive out to putah cuz i dont have the money, but i do it because i love fishing that much. i may not have put as many years into putah as some of you have, actually i havent even fished it for a half a year yet, but i have put a lot of time into it and trust me i have earned a spot to fish on putah. i fish hard every time i go out, i get up at 5, at putah by 6:30 and start fishing around 7 to 7:15 till almost dark. on top of that i am a very very quick learner, i pick things a lot faster than most people do, hence why i do so well on putah. i have fished with the best (JT) who has taught me a great deal, fished with the captain a lot who has taught me a great deal as well, even those that are new to the sport. it doest matter who i fish with as long as i am fishing and having fun. i am not tryin to be arrogant, or say that i am better than any of you, or anything like that. i never have and never will say anything like that. but it seems like some of you on this website dont like who you dont know. like cappy said, maybe those that feel that way just need go fishing with me, and understand the love and passion that i have for this sport. raining, down pours, snow, wind, sleet, cold, doesnt matter, i am there dressed for the weather with my rod in my hand, my fishing supplies in my back pack on my back and ready to go.

but hey if i need to stop posting or post that i had a horrible day just to make a few of you feel better about yourselfs then so be it, ill do it, it really doesnt bother me anymore. i really think its a bunch of crap that someone cant post about a great day that they had, but if thats what you want black cloud, or anyone else for that matter, id be more than happy to accomidate your requests.

With all due respect, It seems as though this one is worn out.  It's time to move on here.  I suggest a new topic and put this one to bed.  Thanks.
