So, got out the creek for the first time in a LONG time for me. Been at least a few months.
But even still, I only fished for about 2 hours, and it was pretty disappointing. Not a fish, not a whiff of a fish, not a strike, nothing.
Water was green, about 1 ft. visibility, tops. I tried just about every combination I could think of and have had success with... dry dropper, PT, Prince, Caddis Pupa, Midge, Midge pupa, etc.
Nothing. That's a rarity for me, but Putah humbles even it's long time fishermen.
I have ungodly amounts of work to do over the next several weeks, so I don't expect to get out much between now and then. I've only checked the board a few times in the last month or two, which is also a rarity for me. Looks like we've made some good progress with DFG which is outstanding.
The way things were going, I thought that the DFG was going to designate Putah a wild meth-head fishery with a communal land fill to go along with it.
Thanks for the report. It is always good to hear information regarding water clarity and visibility - especially during times when the weather has made a river high and/or muddy.

I feel like a steelheader
theres plenty in the american.....was down there yesterday....lots of BIG fish.....water clarity is improving as well
Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
The creek is defenitly off color, Its green and kinda milky, Somewhat like glacier runoff, I think it will clear quickly. It is fishable at this time, But not ideal conditions. Yellow eggs worked ok today.
As you can see, I'm not finding the time to post or fish! But yes, I did move, and I am enjoying life in Rancho Solano (in Fairfield).
I've played golf a few times, fished once or twice and generally just worked so far this fall/winter. Not ideal. But, what can you do. Got to pay the bills.
