I snuck out of the house for a few hours this morning and made my way up to the creek. I managed to catch some nice fish but spent most of my time watching the spawners. I could seriously watch them for hours. In fact, I did. Hot flies of the day were a #20 black micromay and a #16 olive fox poopah. It was nice meeting you, Ranger. It was good to see you educating your client about the importance of staying off of the spawning beds.

I think I saw those guys today too. Came around the corner below the RV park and there were three guys watching the redd. Didn't seem to be fishing it though which I thought was cool. Did get this fish today but lost 6. This one almost stretched my new net at 18" but not quite. This fish took a fly known in some circles as a "JT special". Thank you sir. Lost a 15" on a flash Juan worm. I was hoping to stick that fish so I would have to eat my words about that fly. Oh well.
I've been trying to tell everyone about the survey boxes on the creek. I hope people are using them. Don't forget about the online survey as well. It is super easy to complete.
