Sorry Packrat I was looking at the spots on the fish. Most of the wild trout on Putah have very few spots below the lateral line. The tail is covered up so I couldn't see it.

The brown trout are awesome!!!

Mouse patterns can be deadly in areas where big browns lurk.

I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say the fly he used was a frog popper. You say they like meat right.

I know that Brown trout love to eat crawdads so I'm going to say some kind of crawdad streamer.

Those browns that sharkdiver mentioned earlier that are in the photos are browns.The picture with myself and my buddy are holding are 19-20lb browns caught in a place called "little sandy creek" in upstate NY.They were two of many many big fish we caught  in our 3 day stay there.Those monsters took a #6 black rubber legs on the swing.The other picture of me holding a big brown with a bewildered look on my face is on Putah a few years back.He took a #10 black leach also on the swing just before dark.Yes Browns do get that big!! Bono

i love new york. originally from it, and i know exactly where lil sandy creek is at. how did you like ny bono. is that the only place that you fished. did you fish for the ny brookies as well. its a whole new world when it comes to fly fishing in new york. but you gotta love it
