I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. I was up in Washington State spending some time with the in-law and fishing. Weather was nice and clear with a little bit of wind. Temp ranged from 15-30 degree's. Needless to say it got real cold at times. At one point during the day I moved to a new hole and but the time I got to it my fly had frozen! I had never fished in weather like this before so it was an experience... especially after releasing the fish back in to the water. Anyways here's some photo's from the recent trip. Enjoy.
nice post and nice fish wt. it wasnt as cold on black friday, but damn did i freeze my buns off in the water. it was chilly, but ended up thawing out around noon near the bridge. i have been hearing some good things lately about washington. i might have to check it out. its about 8 hrs away right. thats from sac

depends on where you go and what time of day you leave... where I was fishing in eastern washington it's 15 hours from Berkeley.... so 13-14 from sac?...but if you got a heavy foot I am sure it's not that long. If you're looking at doing some fishing in washington I would encourage you to look at the East side of the state instead of the West side... personal bias of mine. Another great stream... closer and in oregon... is the metolious... if your looking at making a out of state trip... they have cheap camping right along side the river
thanks i think i might look into it, maybe bring my gf with me to keep me warm. hahaha

I used to live in tacoma wa. and its great fishing up there. I never had the chance to fish the east slope, But I did spend alot of time near yakima and boy its get seriously cold up there ! Brian, the cold we had friday would be like heaven up there, I swear to you I thought i was gonna get frost bite one day, That was the only time in my life that i was actually really concerned about getting a cold weather injury, Its brutal.
if you are pounding the fish then it is, but if you are gettin one every few hours i would back the truck up keep it on and watch someone else fish and catch a cold. i love fishing but i love my body parts much more. there is a limit to abusing your body and frostbite is one of them.

Nice fish WT, ahhh ice in da guides, I love winter. Those are good days when the fair weather folks stay inside. Although I admit you might find me down in a good hole in the dead of winter with a hot thermos of coffee on the side.
