I should have a few days this coming week to go up over Thanksgiving break. Does anyone know any current hot flies that are working? i know about all the standards: fox poopah (tan, olive), pheasant tails, prince nymphs, copper johns, midges and wd40's. I was also wondering if anyone had any luck using dry flies this time of year when the water levels were lower, maybe closer to dusk?
emergers are workin great. me and cappy had fish rising everywhere around us. i tried every dry fly possible and didnt get a damn thing on them. but they was everywhere hittin emergers.

thanks for the tips Brian. Mykissman is my father in law and he has taken me to Putah a few times and I really like fishing up there. I will let him know about the Emergers too we may be up there together one day next week.
you already named the main ones, fox pupahs are workin great, pheasants, but in the am and pm emergers seem to be the ticket. it is slow on the water so dont expect much like it is when the flows are up, but dont give up on a spot right away. adjust that indicator, put more shot less shot, and change a few flies. check those rocks, see whats hatchin, midges where all over the place late in the pm, and there were a few rusty spinners on the water as well. not a lot of bug action, but more than i have seen in the last few times i have been out.
good luck out there, stick um and stick um hard. gotta "play hard or go home" when it comes to putah right now. you put in a hard day of fishing and it will pay off.
