I agree with the lateness.  I was trying to figure out some other coastal rivers for this weekend but most have the same story as the Russian River here.  Not enough water and only a few confused fish.   That's probably why the Trinity is so packed right now.  It's the only consistent producer.  We are almost two months late over here on the Russian.  But there isn't a "normal" year and most fish show up in Jan/Feb anyways.  There's a few smaller Chinook out back of work, maybe a half dozen today 3-6 pounds.

Later that season, I tied that same beach bum with yellow back and pink collar. It was a killer !

I didn't know there were "guru" on this site. I had a good laugh, although I'm way behind you guys. I've been trying to land an alligator gar on the fly; those guys are rough.

gar and tarpon those are my 2 dreams on a fly rod.

as far as salmon they are startin to show up very slowly, i have heard of a few here and there in the american, the yuba and the feather. not real big pods but pods they are
