dont worry boys the winter is comming and the bait fishermen or gutslingers as i like to call them will be gone or at least the leagal ones got a hold of a couple of packs of #24s myself and have been stocken up on my favorite winter time patterns the more it cools the more well have the creek to ourselves i love putah in the winter
Once I overheard two guys talking who wondered if it legal on Putah Creek to trade for bigger fish, saying it was legal in other California waters. I had no problem informing them it was against the law on Putah Creek and throughout the state. Of course the fish will die, unless they're catfish. This stems from the following regulation:
Section 1.87. Waste of Fish: It is unlawful to cause or permit any deterioration or waste of any fish taken in the waters of this state.
I can't find it in the new regs, but it used to say that once you had obtained a daily bag limit for a particular species, the continued fishing for that species was unlawful.

Bryan, I'm pretty sure I'll be there. You guys are planning on hitting the creek bright and early? I'm thinking of doing the same. That is, if I can wake up. I don't get off work until 1AM on Friday night.
