I don't know E.  Sounds like your buying the flies?  I tie and use all kinds of epoxies but I'm not aware of any colored stuff being used for flies.  There could be some black stuff out there at the hardware store.   Loon products makes stuff called UV wader repair.  Less than ten bucks and doubles as epoxy for flies.  No mixing of chemicals and smelly stuff and it dries in under a minute.  That comes in a couple of colors including orange which I use on stoneflies.biggrin

Check out Loon Hard Head Fly Finish.  It comes in a lot of colors ... black, clear, red, glow pink, glow orange, glow yellow, pearlescent white, pearlescent red, pearlescent green, pearlescent blue, and NEW phosphorescent (glow-in-the-dark).

Its a cool product.

Lots of people use Devcon 5 minute epoxy.  Of course you have to mix it, and to my knowledge, it only comes in clear.  You can add a dark under wingcase if you like it dark.  You can also add one strand of flash over the top of the dark but under the epoxy like on the micromay or copper john.

Maybe that hard head stuff is what I'm thinking of.  I need to clean my tying bench.
