Hi guys, it looks like it might rain on saturday, do you think that will hurt the fishing at all. I never fished a river or stream while it was raining, only a lake, and it usually doesn't hurt the fishing too bad, but I'm talking Amador here...lol.
Also, I'm gonna get an early start at Putah on saturday, like 6am. Is there any fly shop that opens that early on the way from san jose.
Only place that is open that early is the store in winters, They have some fly's, leaders, tippet, indicators, etc. Not the best selection but its ok in a pinch. First store on your right as you come into winters.
Fishing in the rain can be really good. Make sure you have a few rain jackets though. I was out yesterday when the rain was really coming down. The BWOs and midges were taking flight during the breaks in the downpours. The fish were hitting micro mayflies and black midge emergers.
creative sports opens like 10 or 11 a.m and there is the san jose fly shop ,you could always hit it on friday after work, the creek fishes well in overcast days ,besides the fish dont know its wet outside lol have a good trip dd
the best days Ive had on putah... and I fish putah a lot.... have been in the rain...I will give one secret for hooking em in the rain ...send me a PM if you want to know...
