it might be a crazy day, but as far as opinions go, would it still be worth it for me to go up there and fish, being that it may be in the mid 50s few showers, and possible snow in the am times, and if it will be any advise as far as fishing, should i go deep, or stay shallow. any advise will help
and i still have a spot available if anyone wants to go, gonna fish the wild trout sanctuary first near the airport, i do have suv with 4 wheel drive so good to go there, if that doesnt pick up, pretty much from wolf creek rd down to the bridge at the trophy section will be poppin, the recently stocked it with 4-5 lb average with fish up to 10lbs, i did make a few phone calls and googles to verify this. so if you are up to heading out at 5, sunrise will be at 7 am, then let me know, we can stop at the starbucks around the corner from my house maybe get some donuts and head up the mountain.
just shoot me an email or post, either way let me know. so my schedule sucks so bad, thats the car biz for ya, just glad my boss is cool, leaving early today for bday dinner, have thursday off all day for carson, and leaving early saturday to head up to downieville to fish with chucktheduck in the yuba, hey chuck cant wait. hopefully it dont snow on us. but that will be a trip if it does,
well hope to hear from someone

I wouldn't be jumping in the wader during a storm without waders. Should you get stranded up there, the last thing you would want is to be wet. Be careful.

well thanks for the look out, if its a thunderstorm i aint going in the water ill fish but not in the wader, if its a drizzle ill bring my military issue gortex and be plenty warm, but again jt thanks for the look out. us new yorkers we just wanna fish, weither it be naked or in a eskimo suit, under water or fully dry, as long as we keep that line wet thats all that matters

Brian, The article that I read on the trout plant up there is near the carson river resort, Not exactly sure were that is, but with a map i'm sure you will find it. I really dont think this weather system is gonna be enough to change the fishing conditions. Dude, If you need apair of waders I'll give ya a set of neopremes I dont use anymore. Its gonna be cold up there, Few weeeks ago I spent some time at a lake along hwy. 4 at about 8,500 feet and it was sweatshirt and pants the whole time, with me deep inside a 0 degree mummy bag at night. The ticket should be high stick nymphing pocket water on a short line. Hopefully you'll have some dry fly action. As JT stated above, You really should be careful as far as getting wet and cold, Always bring extra food and water, and dry clothes when your going that far. Wind is an issue in that area alot of times. Be safe, and good luck. Watch for bears as well, Carry a firearm if possible.
hey that helps even more, especially what to use, its kinda like putah, i usually use ants, beetles and such, but i will have to try the nymphin, that is definatly some good info thanks captain
