I had to coach a soccer game in turlock on sunday so I decided to bring my rod and fish for a few hours on the lower stan after the game. I fished a couple of miles below the dam from 5:30 to dark. Caught a bunch of wild bows between 8-12 inches. Got them on either a 16 red copper john or my dropper #18Pt most fish were on the dropper. Everywhere else seems easy after fishing Putah.
I fished the North Fork of the Stanislauson Saturday evening, near Calaverasdid not land anything, I was there for what seemed like a very short hatch and feeding frenzy, I got a few to take on a modified parachute adams, but just could not set for one reason or another and darknessfell too quickly.
My office is in Lodi, I am there at least a couple times a week howeverI am not familiar with the lower Stan river, could you tell me where that is that you were fishing? I would love to get out there after work one evening and have a stab at them.
