I'm new to this group and have only been up to Putah once. Was thinking of taking my son up today and wondered if anyone had any tips they'd be willing to share? Thanks.
There are fish pretty much everywhere between Lake Solano and Monticello Dam. I would use small subsurface flies. I don't know what the insect activity has been like lately, but mayfly nymphs as well as midge and caddis larvae/pupae usually work well. If you're fishing deep enough with a drag-free drift, you have a good chance of hooking fish.
