I was ending my day of fishing just below the #4 access parking lot today, and a bunch of fire trucks an paramedics starting coming, then a rescue helicopter landed in the parking lot. I went up to take a look but one of the fireman waved for me to stay back. Looked like they were helping someone who had a medic problem in there car I think. As for the fishing, not to bad today, started at 7 a.m ended at about 2:30 easily 15 fish landed, actually got some 15 and 16 inch wild putah fat footballs, pretty constant action as long as i kept moving, covered a lof water. Most fish were caught on #18 p.t's. Also caught 1 riffle sculpin about 4 inches
Nice report Capt. Hopefully all was okay down there. Yikes! I did the same thing the other day but sounds like you had a better day today. I also caught a sculpin when I was six up on the Salmon R. in Idaho. My dad and I had to take it to the DFG office to figure out what it was. After seeing that stickleback deal and hearing that,it would seem wise to fish baitfish patterns. No amount of midges gets fish so big out there.
