does anyone know of a good online source for quality tying materials? I like to buy most of my fly fishing stuff at American Fly Fishing in Sacramento but as far as tying they don't always have exactly what I need. Any suggestions? charlie

Any of the ones close here in California are good. I don't order too much but I do shop around for lots of crazy hard to get items. Theflyshop.com is good. I believe both Keines and San Jose fly shop also are good. Lately I have been blending my own stuff with a coffee grinder to get some pretty good colors.
I have been poking around flytyingspecialties.com lately. Its an independent on-line retailer based in Petaluma, CA. I haven't made a purchase yet, so I can't provide any feed back on customer service. However, I did exchange a few emails with the owner regarding tying lessons and he was very responsive.
I get the usual stuff at Kiene's, Sweeney's, or American Fly. There are some hard to find materials that I buy while I'm travelling. If you're ever near another fly shop, stop in and check it out. They may just have what you're looking for.
