hey thanks 4 all the info guys last weekend i went fly fishing a putah and didnt get a single bite after getting all ur info and all your help me and my buddy to day where able to land about 20 fish total only my second time flyfishing ever. the best part was i cought 4 fish in 2 casts :P ha. yup, i had a double fly rig and back 2 back i casted got a bite and pulled in 2 trout on both flys. any ways thanks 4 the help guys.
It sounds like planters, but who cares, that is still a great day on the creek. And on your second time flyfishing, what a blast! A couple of days last spring I happened to hit pods of planters and caught 10 to 20 fish in less than an hour. I love catching the occasional 20+ incher on the creek, but those days where the fish are constantly striking are great fun. Congrats.
DFG defenitly dumped alot of fish this past week, I fished around the resort today and caught at least 20 planters, not a single wild guy, still alot of fun. Mostly used copper johns and a dark lord, a few on a prince, Did see a few hogs hooked, only one landed. Alot of people on the creek today.
